Love/Hate relation with earthquakes

In February of 2010 a big earthquake happened in Chile and the epicenter was in the south of the country. That was my first experience with that kind of phenomenon and was very scary. I think that since that day I became in a person that hates earthquakes because they scare me a lot. In September of 2015 another earthquake occurred, but this time it was less strong and the epicenter located in the north of Chile, specifically in a little village called “Canela”. That place is very close to the village where my grandmother lives so that year my family and I have to travel quickly to my grandmother’s house. Fortunately she was ok, but her house wasn’t. It was a house made of adobe so with the movement it became inhabitable. Was so difficult to my grandmother see how her house was demolished because she had lived all her live there. I remember that earthquake coincided with national holidays –Fiestas Patrias- so for that reason the “fondas” were suspended. If you don’t know what “fo...

Sociology Programme

Around the end of 2014 I decided that I wanted to focus my future in the social sciences. So I started to investigate about different careers and then while I was looking for the options, I decided to study sociology at University of Chile. As to manage that I had to do the PSU and achieve a good score. Finally I entered in the career that I wanted at the university that I wanted. So here I am in my second year of sociology. So let me tell you about the study programme of my career…  This career lasts 10 semesters –five years- and belongs to Social Science Faculty. But this doesn’t mean that the career doesn’t have a relation with mathematics. For example one of the subjects that I have is statistics! But also I have to read a lot in my others subjects like sociological theory, world history and Chilean history among others. For that reason this career has a big workload. In this point I think that the programme needs a change (okay I know that is so important read a lot, but no...

A Bad Week

The last week was really bad to me. First, I don’t know why but at the beginning of week I felt so sad and I just wanted to cry. Has it ever happened to you? Whatever, I don’t know what was the reason to be like that, it was so weird. Finally I cried a lot, but I think that was necessary because perhaps I had a stack of emotions and I had to let them out. Also I think that was because I’m Pisces and I have read that this zodiac sign is the most sensitive of all. What do you think? Despite everything I was very excited because at the Saturday night I had to go to J Balvin concert! So I think that I will finish my week very well… BUT the Sunday morning my mom told me really bad news: my grandmother’s dog was run over. That was like a “bucket of cold water” because we had adopted Kivi –the dog- when it was a puppy and then we take it to my grandmother’s house so actually I feel so sad when I heard the news because Kivi is old and I could not bear it to die. Unfortunately I don’t hav...

Portuguese or Professional Manicurist?

I think that is so complicated study other things after you graduate because it mean a cost of money and time! But isn’t impossible. Personally in this moment and thinking in the future I wouldn’t like to study another career or something like that because I think that is too difficult –academically speaking- Nevertheless  I can´t deny that I would love to study Portuguese. I don´t know why but 3 years ago I started to like that language. Maybe by the phonetic, but I really don´t know, just happen and now I love it! Obviously I would like to learn this language in a country where the people speak Portuguese… So I would love study in Brazil! That would be amazing! Do you think so? But if I can´t go there I should study here, in Chile. I would like study Portuguese in a flexible schedule because like this the study won’t be exhausting. Also I would like to study something that isn’t a “conventional study” I related that I would like to be a professional manicurist. Because I love pa...

An Expected Concert

This month is so important to me for two reasons. First because I’m back in my blogger account! Second because at the end of this month will happen something that I’ve waiting for a very long time. Do you want to know what is it? Are you ready? This month José Álvaro Osorio Balvin -dubbed J Balvin- will be present in Santiago! And I’m very excited to go and enjoy him songs. If you don´t know this artist don't worry and let me tell you some things about him. J Balvin is a reggaeton singer born in Medellin, Colombia. He is 33 years old and he became globally known thanks to him 3 rd album called “La Familia”. In the concert of this month he will be present him new album called “Vibras” -that by the way I recommended you- and I’m very excited because I’m going to the show with my friend Gabriela! I can’t wait to the July 28! Even though exists a lot of negative opinions about this kind of music I think that this artist is different to others reggaeton singers who used aggressi...

My best holiday

Four years ago, in 2014 I had the best holidays in my life. In that year I visited the north of Chile, specifically San Pedro de Atacama. That trip was so amazing because I’ve had never been there before so It was so wonderful to me. I went to San Pedro with all my family –my mom, my little sister and my dad- and we went to Geyser del Tatio and Laguna Cejar. These places are so beautiful! I recommended you to visit. We had to get up early to visit the first place because the geysers enter in activity only in the early morning, but I didn´t care because was really amazing! I love that place. After that we went to the center of San Pedro and we took a lot of photos. The second day we went to Laguna Cejar and it was so interesting because when you go into the water you float immediately! This happens because the water has much salt. We went only two days to San Pedro because we have stayed in Calama with our relatives. I hope you can go to San Pedro de Atacama because the places and the...

Is true that I would like visit a lot of countries around the world, but if I have to choose one in this moment I’m going to choose Brazil. But, what makes special this country? Well, many years ago I was interested in learn Portugese because seems me so attractive for the way to pronunciation and it’s so similar to Spanish so I think that is not complicated (I’m still interested) but unfortunately I don’t learn yet. For that reason I think that visit Brazil is a motivation to learn Portuguese and maybe I can study there that would like me to much! Or maybe I can go to study there for exchange! That would be great! Also I want to go to that country because the weather is more tropical to Chile and I heard that the beaches are so beautiful. Also I really love the rhythm of Samba that I want to dance every time that I hear that music and I know that exist a carnival in Río where a lot of Samba’s schools show their dances. That’s should be amazing! I’ll really love to go to see that...
